My first career was as a fighter pilot and bomber captain with the RAF.  I then took a first degree in Computer Science and Pure Maths before lecturing in Computer Science.  Latterly I have managed my own companies, specialising in software development and research and development.  In my youth I was an amateur jockey, racing in the Far East.  I am married with 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
